Following the diverstating effects on the environment and on the
health of citizens of the state occasioned by illegal oil bunkering
activities, ex-freedom fighters from Rivers state led by Sobomabo
Jackrich has vowed to put an end to all illegal oil bunkering activities
in some parts of the state within their sphere of influence.
Soboma
Jackrich, popularly known as Egberi Papa who stated this while reaching
an agreement with over a thousand youths at his residence in Usokun
town, Degema to put a final stop to the ugly trend, said the move was in
support of plans by Aiteo company, to create employment chances for
surveillance jobs for the youths engaged in illegal oil bunkering
activities, noting no one will be sidelined in the planned move.
Egberi
Papa while appealing to Aiteo Company to increase the employment slots
from over a thousand to at least two thousand to accommodate more youths
of the state, noted the closure of all illegal oil mining camps will
begin from his.
On his part, former leader of
the defunct Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force, Alhaji Asari Dokubo
who was also present at the meeting, while speaking in support of the
move, lamented that continued illegal oil bunkering activities in the
state has led to the total loss of aquatic life in the state, hence, the
need to put an end to it.
Asari Dokubo
further cautioned the youths to tow the part of peace adding it was
senseless for anyone to kill his brother in whatever guise.
Similarly,
some of those present at the meeting, who spoke with our correspondent
including General Tamunotonye Obais and Prince Wisdom Amachree a.k.a
General Adekunle equally called on youths of the state to embrace the
opportunity presented to them by the firm in order to lead decent
lives.

clan), General Francis Tariah (Ocean bird), Awoala George, General Daddy
Binto, General Orinaemi Heart (Okoloba Ikpangi) General Sobomabo
Alalibo, General Afro, Victor (General Iyallo), Sunjiye (General Rex),
General Vuva, General Jingiri , and Tamunokuro Prince (General Boy
Kaka).
Others are General Usmila, Adaiyi Lawson
(Gen Okobro), General Abaji, General Maka Robinson, General Yankee,
General Westye Wokoma, General Igonikon, Daddyboy (General Blaze),
General Norman (Eweleye), Alafaa Briggs (General Dontel), General
Ipalibo Jackson, Dakorubo Ibama (General Inspector) General Tonye Tobon,
General Dede, General Iminabo, General Tamunokuro and host of others.
