AKPABIO IS AN ENEMY OF RIVERS STATE – PDP DECLARES | #RwGBlog

In a stern declaration, the Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has labeled Senator Godswill Akpabio as an adversary of Rivers people, signaling potential consequences for his actions and statements in the state.

The assertion came in response to remarks made by Senator Akpabio during the burial ceremony of the late Chief Herbert Wigwe, wife, and son at Isiokpo on Saturday, March 9th, 2024. Governor Siminialayi Fubara’s poignant query on the futility of political power struggles drew applause and reflection from mourners but incurred the wrath of Senator Akpabio, who proceeded to launch into a confrontation, deriding the Governor’s stance.

According to the PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Sydney Tambari Gbara, Senator Akpabio’s consistent disdain and disrespect towards Governor Fubara is evident in his public appearances within the state. The PDP highlighted instances where Senator Akpabio’s actions had allegedly undermined the welfare and progress of Rivers people, including deceptive maneuvers regarding road construction and harassment of notable state figures.

Moreover, the PDP expressed concern over Senator Akpabio’s purported attempts to incite political discord and destabilization in Rivers State through provocative commentary, contrasting his behavior in Rivers with his demeanor in his home state of Akwa Ibom.

The PDP’s press release cautioned Senator Akpabio against further verbal attacks on Governor Fubara, warning of potential repercussions if such behavior persists. Additionally, the party appealed to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to intervene and restrain Senator Akpabio’s actions, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and unity in the state.

As the PDP rallies support for Governor Fubara’s administration and urges vigilance against divisive rhetoric, the statement underscores the party’s commitment to defending the interests of Rivers people against perceived adversaries.

The press release, signed by Tambari Sydney Gbara, serves as a public stance against what the PDP perceives as threats to the stability and progress of Rivers State.
