Port Harcourt, Rivers State – Yesterday, June 8, 2025, the Port Harcourt Township United Pressure Group, under the auspices of the Simplified Movement Worldwide, held a heartfelt Thanksgiving Service in honor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State. This significant event marked the successful two-year tenure of the leaders, reflecting on their achievements and the positive impact.

The service took place at the Banham Memorial Cathedral (Methodist Church), located at 69 Aggrey Road Town, Port Harcourt. The group was led to the altar by the patron, Barr Aminayanasam Fiberesima, and the leader, Prince Tamunokuro John. The prayer of thanksgiving was officiated by the Archbishop, Most Rev. Dr. Effiong A. Esekede of the Archdiocese of Port Harcourt.

During the service, Archbishop Esekede extended blessings to the nation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, acknowledging their commitment to the welfare of the people of Rivers State. He commended the group for their thoughtful gesture in holding the thanksgiving, emphasizing that such acts open avenues for divine favor and the realization of their aspirations.

The Archbishop further encouraged the congregation, reassuring them that Rivers State has been blessed with a governor who genuinely cares for the citizens. He urged the people of the state not to be discouraged by any challenges but to remain steadfast in their support for their elected leaders. The bishop reminded attendees that every event unfolds for a reason, and this unique thanksgiving service symbolizes hope for the swift restoration of democratic ideals in Rivers State.

People with disabilities were also in full attendance.
